We have a CS 8000i here in the shop with an interesting problem. If you power off the machine or sleep it over night, when it boots back up it has an error code of C0180 which points to an eeprom code. Along with that it goes back to metric and the destination model goes to Taskalpha. After swapping out boards to troubleshoot with no luck. We tried the battery for s&g, now we get an 0840 code and the clock and times reset. We can reset all the errors but when you power off over night or a few hours the problem reoccurs. So I'm leaning toward bad main pwb eeprom and code dimm. Anyone else run into a problem like this?

Also there is a message about "Time for Maintenance (T)" on the display.. What is that? All the maintenance counters have been cleared after we PMed the machine and changed all the feed rollers. Can't find anything about it in the SM.

Thanks

you probably have a dead eprom battery. just like on a PC.
the maint t is a erronious code. we believe that is is caused by a loss of network time sync. it is removed by doing a 906 reset.

Maint T is a time thing...go into sim 278 and turn it off..I think you have to 906 reset afterwards

278 set delivery date? It was blank.. So I punched in a date. Did a 906. Reboot.. Maint. T still there, now has 0840 code again but time is set correctly on display.

I talked to a Kyo rep about the time for maint T and as far as he could tell me it has to do with times syncing up and such...having a bad eeprom battery or other issues causing your time to be out of whack would probably cause that. I've seen it on lots of machines but I have never seen it affect anything.

After everything we did, new EEPROM chip solved the problem...

Maintenance T, do a firmware update then 906 that should cure it, I seem to remember it was to do with the fax time? correct me if I am wrong. that is if this has a fax option? been a long time and i dont have the bulletin.

If the eeprom cured all this may be of use for the future.
