Did you try to activate the thin coated paper mode?

Access [Utility] -> [02 User Setting] -> [03 Common Setting] -> [Next] -> [Prior Paper Type],
[Thin Coated]

then

[Utility] -> [02 User Setting] -> [01 System Setting] -> [03 Paper Tray Setting] -> [81-105gsm Coated], where [Standard] (default) and [Thin Coated]. This setting is available for each tray.

I would recommend you to change the Fusing stability priority
[Utility] -> [02 User Setting] -> [03 Common Setting] -> [Next]-> [Next]-> Best quality and Fusing stability ( or something like)

I hope this helps.
Good luck

Zero experience with this model but i guess you could try to stop the machine while printing to maybe pinpoint when/where the problem occurs?

I have 5 in my terrority and struggle with this same exact issue. Most if the time if the problem is after 2nd xfer bur before fuser (via panic stop) its a paper that the machine just doesn't like. C8000 is very pick with its lighter weight paper 110gsm and below. Espicaly uncoated stock.

Try a silk coated, or use a MOHAWK brand coated.

If we are running something that think we dont run it on the C8000 but the C6501 or a slower model.

We dont get many requests for less then 80# gloss.
