Hi, everyone.

I have KM 1050.

I have a White Dot problem in Backside.
Front Page is OK. But Rear Side is problem.

A4 size is little bit problem. but A4R or B5 is serious.

I changed Drum, Developer, all Wires, Grid, and adjust Transfer voltages.
But Problem is still remains.

Attached PDF contains some sample pages (Test Pattern 7)

Hi there.

I would say that transfer/separation is improper.
But from your explanation if the back side is with the problem. Then may be paper gets too much curl in the fuser.
Try lowering the temp or better first try with good quality paper to see if it improves.
Good look.

hello..

have you tried printing it on other types of paper?
or did you did printing it in auto duplex mode??
or try printing one side 1st then put back for other sides?

as i can see, you have change all major components for imaging..
that problem is a big no way cause by a faulty electrical components.

maybe the problem is in the paper..
Moisture as we call it..
1st side is okey, then upon fixing it,
at hot temperature, water from paper evaporates,
causing a poor image transfer for back side..

try to print it on a normal paper,
or maybe put your paper under the sun for 1 hour before printing on it..

One more, try printing 2 sided back 2 back blank page,
then print you test pattern on it...
if 2 sides has white spots, confirm, its moisture...

Hope it helps..

Thank you for your opinion.

I tried some kind of papers.
But problem is same.
so, I think this is not paper or moisture problem.

and I replaced all Electric parts.
Like a Drum, Developer, Grid, all Wires but problem is still remains.

What can I do, next?

Thank you for help.

Hi,

Check the fuser unit belt and the fuser roller that comes into contact with the paper. It could be scratched.

Your issue is most likely paper curl on second side. The 1050 uses a T&S corona unit for transferring toner onto the paper. It is extremely low maintenance but struggles with toner transfer with curled paper. There is a transfer assist plate that helps with this (this is the main reason why A4 portrait looks better). The transfer assist cannot work with A4R as it will scratch the drum surface. You can purchase an A4R T&S corona unit that has the smaller transfer assist guide. This will make your prints better with A4R paper.
This is old technology now, the new B&W machines use a transfer belt which is much better at toner transfer onto the second side. The samples you provided look about as good as you will probably get on a 1050.

DID YOU CLEAN THE GLASS? I HAVE SEEN THE DV UNIT BLOW DV/TONER ON THE GLASS DURING A IMPROPER CLOSING.

then you get this on copies and prints.

clean or pull the slit glass, then copy again.

not 100% sure but happens sometimes.
