CF248 codes are usually corrupt print data. That can be:
data from a corrupt document
data from a corrupt driver
data from a wrong driver
non-print data sent to the printer's IP

First connect your MFP via crossover cable to your laptop, then print. No codes?
Re-connect the MFP to the network. Codes return?

Now the hard part will be to find the source of the corrupt data.

The simplest solution is to change the printers IP address to an unused address. Connect your laptop to the customer's network and print. So far, so good? Now change the port on each print driver until you find the one that's causing your codes.

Now that you've got the PC and the enduser, it's up to you to determine if it's a specific document, a corrupt driver or a wrong driver. =^..^=

Firmware update release 11/10 addressed that problem also. Is your firmware is up to date?

what if (as more and more of my accounts are) the entire install of FS4200 printers is on thin clients/Terminal servers?im running ver 9 firm, the small Uni KPDL driver ver 8, on hosted W2K8 R2 terminal server...shd i try the big KX ver 6 driver on KPDL passthru? (i was told its too resource intensive for a Terminal server session over a WAN)im getting intermitant (once a week) F248 codes.. printer frozen, jobs backed up, cranky escrow officers then yelling, "our old HP didnt do that!"
