Hi everyone, got a strange problem on a km-3060 and any help would be appreciated, I have a fair bit of experience on Kyocera, but this is a new one to me.

The machine has two cassettes, was working fine, then tray 1 keeps popping up with "tray 1 error, open tray and remove paper" it is random, can be after 1,4,6 etc copies, I swapped the feed tyres, swapped the paper feed unit over, swapped the whole paper cassette, all to no avail.

One thing I did notice was if I ran a job of 5 copies, 2 would be fine, then the next 3 would be turned around on the page, not inverted, just upside down?? very odd.

The firmware ISN`T up to date, I am going to do that when I go back, I just wanted to put it out there to see if anyone has had a similar issue before I go, I hope it makes sense to anyone.

Any help or suggestions is appreciated.

cheers

sorry blackcat, my bad, error codes would have been handy, lol.

error codes.

j00 - 11
j05 - 2
j10 - 21
j11 - 2
j14 - 1
j21 - 15
j30 - 6
j41 - 13

plus a few fuser/adf jams.

I have been reading through some posts on here, people mentioning lift motor/engine board problems, I don`t think it is that because it lifts fine, stops when it should, feeds fine, but after a couple of copies, "jams up" and says open drawer and remove paper, but there is no paper there, and you can`t clear it without turning the mc on off and on. Hopefully it is something straight forward, but not hugely familiar with these machines so any tips or suggestions would be great.

cheers.

I'd say definitly try another lift motor, it does sound like it.

Those are lift motor errors for sure...might also check the PF clutches as well....

Also keep in mind that a shorting lift motor can take out your engine PWB. Generally though, the error won't reset if you've toasted the engine board.

That list looks like the normal distribution of jams ... the J10's will be from the paper tray, and fit nicely with the C1010 and C1020 lift errors. I think you've found your own answer. =^..^=
