Yes,

Several times.

And after changing everything the service manual suggests it was the black moulded display port data cable from the CIS in the ADF to DSCB in the back of the machine.

internal breakage occurs at the stripped and clamped down section next to the CIS.

Thanks for the information, the cable you talk about.... Is it the one that looks a bit like a USB cable. Is it usually just this part that causes the fault code.
thank you

yes, thats the one, and its black.

That's what it's been in my experience and given that its cheaper than most parts the service manual suggests its worth a try.

Not too bad all in all. The manual has the procedure but left out the steps about removing the washered screws to be able to raise assembly, and access the screw for the white clamp.

Thanks for all the help on this issue provided.

We tackled the cable replacement and all is QUIET.

Thanks for the info on the cable and the tips.

I did another one today.

every one of those early fat cables will fail eventually it seems.

1 is kept in my car at all times, its slowed down these days though since the standard fitment of the thinner cable from the factory.

Still the odd fat cable machine out there - I changed another one last week on a machine with 1 month contract left!

Soon all of this will be a distant memory.
