Hi, i have an issue with a C220 freezing when receiving a print job. it will print the first page but then freeze. so far i have done the following with the same result.:

Changed network cables
Tested with crossover cable
Replaced MFP

When you say tested with crossover cable was the print successful?
Have you changed the Driver?

Potential HDD or RAM problem in the copier? I've had HDD problems do some strange things.

Hi Guys, Changed the hard drive and this solved the problem for about a week and now its doing it again.

Anyone got any idea what might cause the hardrive to crash out like this? it seems strange that 2 would develop the same fault within a week.

When you've got Gigabit network capabilities on a 100Megabit switch, this can happen. What you need to do is select the 100MB communication speed from the web interface. =^..^=

It seems the only thing you havent tried is the ram, which is what i would of tried along with the MFP board for an issue like this.

more extreme measures may be needed next if this doesnt resolve the issue.

Also, regarding the hard drive, if you replaced it with a KM supplied hitachi it's not unusual for those to fail almost immediately.

this might be a strange request
But I would change the IP address

Did the C220 replace another device ?
Did it use the same IP address

The C220s are not known for lockups
you may find it works fine when you are printing from a crossover cable.

if there is a GPI driver pointing to the C220 ...this could cause the panel to freeze.

Is it a PS job from some Linux dist?
We've got an ongoing project with the department of computer science at one of the local institutions for higher learning where they've got a C220 that freezes when recieving certain jobs.
Konica Minolta have been assisting us and the customer directly, the only solution they've got is special FW (GCD-D1 to be more precise).

Apparently Ghostscript is causing these problems and it's ongoing, with newer versions continuing to cause issues and KM can't seem to do anything but to release obscure special FW.
