Hello,

We have a konika minolta dialta Di251. It is currently displaying error code c0070. We have removed toner bottle, let the machine run without it, put it back in when requested, checked the bottle over etc - now need guidance on how to clean sensors or check for broken parts. Have rang our local konika minolta branch and they have quoted a £130 call out fee followed by hourly labour rates and costs for parts - We are a small charity and cannot afford someone to come out so are willing to have a go ourselves.

If the machine is throwing the C0070 code without the bottle being inserted than likely the worm gear of the little drive motor of the toner bottle holder is damaged.

If C0070 is only coming up with the bottle inserted, than the bottle may be wrong or damaged from previous attempts.

To reach the toner bottle holder ("hopper") mechanism you have to remove the rear cover.

I don't think the Di251 has the worm gear drive. I think it is the same as the Di550 with the little three pointed "Pin". Check the pin to make sure it isn't cracked. Also clean the sensor at the back of the hopper. And make sure the locking mechanism at the bottom is working properly. If if isn't disengaging it will hold the bottle and not allow it to turn.
Hope this helps

Inside the grey housing it has a worm gear. The similar, bot not identical with, motor of the di-450,550 looks identical from the outside but is different, hence the different part numbers.

The Di-200, 251, 351 toner bottle holder drive motor do get damaged from time to time though not that easily as the old Di-350 with the open worm gear assembly.

We never had on the Di-200, 251, 351 series the 3-winged coupler you mentioned go bad but it is a possibility ofcourse.

Hans is correct, it is most likely worm gear issue. That copier is no longer supported by Konica Minolta so you may have problems finding parts. Don't attempt it without a service manual (available from JUSTMANUALS.com).
