c2525e and blurry (gradiented) B&W print but not color

Need some help on this. The first page is printed in B&W from the c2525e machine. Second page is printed in Color. Any idea as to why the first page is so badly blurred?

I can't get much from your scan. Maybe a photo would be more instructive?

I'm going to take a wild-assed guess. The color print is composite black, mostly CMY with a little K. The black print is all K. I'm thinking that your black is severely overtoned. How many clicks on the black developer? Have you tried cleaning and color calibration? =^..^=
