Gents.

Hoping you can help. We have a KC 452 which customer keeps having problem printing to. Seems to be intermittant. But when it happens the following message appears. IP address is already in use, contact administrator. Its on fixed IP address and not dhcp so can't see reason for this, and as I say, machine can work away no problem for ages and the suddenly throw this up. Ended up having to bring the machine back to our workshop. Put it on our own network. Same thing worked fine for a few days and the did the same thing. Any advice would be most appreciated!

Try this. Set the MFP up for DHCP and leave it that way. In the print driver, select Ports, new port, and use the host name instead of the IP address. We've corrected this issue a few times this way. Emujo

The copiers fixed ip address should be outside of the ip range allocated by the dhcp server OR you can simply reserve the ip address of the copier. The other device holding that ip address may be misconfigured and set to a fixed ip address too. Either way, not hard to fix.

when this happens, unplug the copier off the network and ping the address, if you get a response the copier ISNT lying.

also ensure ipv6 is turned off, like it always should be unless specifically required.
