I keep running into a false add toner light on an OLD OLD OLD Mita DC7090. everything looks like it works. the toner motor turns and it add toner but it\'s like the toner motor doesn\'t run long enough or something like that. 1-50 copies always work ok but longer runs then that will sometimes cause the add toner message. the originals are normal documents with regular coverage. This is the only 7090 i have ever worked on so an help would be great.

I used to work on these old beasts all the time.
It sounds to me that you need to replace the toner feed roller.
It\'s the foam roller in the bottom of the hopper. Over time
the foam gets brittle and seperates from the shaft. The shaft
spins and the foam doesn\'t. When this problem first starts the
foam still spins but slower then the shaft, eventually the
foam will stop spinning.
Also make sure that the agitation bars in the hopper haven\'t
come loose.
Hope this helps.

I agree, it\'s the foam toner feed roller.
