Im having a problem with a machine that can not wake from sleep. I would have to power cycle the machine to get it working again. A tech already modified the wake/sleep scheduled times but still having the same same problem. Does anyone know what else can be done?

I'll try new fw. Its weird with these E series. So far every machine I've tried updating firmware, during the download process the MFP would get an N.G. while the other components would update. I've tried various usbs too and since the mfp didn't update, the machine would not blot anymore.

TRY F/W GD1-A9 and will fix your problem for ever,
There is a temperory solution:
Pagescope web page ->Admin login -> Network -> SSDP setting -> OFF

when you do a firmware update on the 4series first format your usb to fat32 then (the current firmware I use is GC8-70 this firmware solves about 250 different weird problems) copy all the files in the firmware folder (including the misc folder):o. Have a little patience I have had machines that would not update firmware what I did was start the procedure again including format and copy files and it would take the second time.

I just had an issue with rebooting every three seconds and had to replace ssd board to fix the issue.

Our regional manager at KM suggested to load special firmware on this machine and future setups.

Special firmware released 12/20

I have not been able to get any C284 or C284e to boot from the USB, I have formatted it & copied the FW folder contents to the root of the USB but it just won't take the fw. Do I need to copy the contents of ALL the folder to the root of the USB!?
I'm using a 4GB USB pen drive & this works fine on the C280 & C552 etc.

Before replacing anything, make sure that Fax Circuit 2 is disabled from service mode (unless you actually have a 2nd Fax Line).

I had this ages ago on a C224 and I replaced the HDD, MFD and SSD boards and didn't fix the issue.

Chances are that is could be the HDD as Konica Minolta were working on the Fax Circuit 2 issue, but just in case, I would check it first.

You are using the pen drive with the wrong size. The size of the usb stick has to be up to 2 Gb. I was trying to update with a 4 Gb stick and didn't work but with a 1 Gb stick worked just fine. Remember to use the service port when updating the firmware. You don't have to copy the contents of all folders in the root.

Thanks, but strange how the same 4GB USB pen works on older models!?

It is hit or miss. I have sone 8GB USB drives that I flash firmware on these models. Out of the 20 or so USB drives I carry around with me I will find one that works.

Can I just confirm if anyone else has done all the FW upgrades (G20-C8 and SSD FWE tool) but is STILL having issues with the C224e series not waking from sleep mode when printing?

I've yet to try changing the network speed but have done everything else imaginable (HDD change, latest printer driver etc)

I have three machines refusing to wake still - temp workaround was to prohibit sleep mode but have one energy conscious client who wishes to have sleep mode back.

Getting frustrating now, any help very much appreciated!

I've had 2 identical 4GB drives formatted FAT32 and one will work and one won't...these machines are real fickle about USB drives...
