Hi we have a Bizhub 36 giving an error C023 to do with the ssd Board. If you unplug the fax board the machine works fine. The option to low level format the ssd drive is grayed out and wont let you format it even with the hard drive unplugged. We have tried another fax board. Has anyone had this or a solution to this problem?

Had this code, i could format SSD but problem came back, was not constant. Did not hear from them after replacing SSD(took it from defect MFP board, as it comes in a set).

CAUSE: Controller flash ROM error

SOLUTION: Reboot the main body and if the error does not
clear, check the SSDB for proper connection and reseat as necessary. If this
does not fix the issue, perform the following and after the format, check MFP
operation.

CAUTION: Please save the Address book data prior to formatting. The data will be cleared and will need to be reloaded. To save created addresses:
1. Log into the bizhub C35 Web Interface. (Password: 12345678)
2. Click on System Tab.
3. Click on Import/Export.
4. Choose Addresses. (This will download a CSV file.) After formatting you can import the CSV file and this will reload saved addresses.

To perform the SSD Low-Level Format:
1. Press the Utility/Counter key.
2. The Utility Mode screen will appear.

3. Press the [¯] key and select Admin Settings.
4. Press Password and enter 12345678 then press [OK] twice.
5. Select Security Settings.
6. Select SSD Low-Level Format.
7. The display will indicate Now Deleting Format (it will take about 2½ minutes to complete).
8. Execute to 100%.
9. Power OFF/ON when prompted.
10. Reflash machine firmware.

MFPB and SSDB Replacement

If the above steps do not fix the problem, then replace the MFPB (p/n A121 R900 23).
Notes:
a. After replacing the MFPB and attempting to backup counter data, if Trouble Code C907 continues to be indicated even after turning the power switch OFF/ON, the original (old) SSD board may need to be replaced with the SSDB from the recently replaced MFPB. If this is the case, counter backup is unavailable.

Was this ever fixed? And if it was what was done to fix the machine?

If you unplug the FAX it will work.
Replacing the SSD worked to fix it for me a couple of times.
