hello guys!
I'm here to write another big problem!
I'm going crazy! konica not give me the answers!
this rip restarts often and as you know, if it happens when you're developing, we must then restore the software.
but not physically restart, restart only the rip software.
the fiery bar displays the message "stopped" and then "boot in progress".
I tried to replace the hard drive, I changed the thermal paste to the CPU and I changed the slot on the motherboard of the processing card!
and after this the problem seemed solved.
Now after about a month the problem returns!
Has it ever happened to anyone? if i change the motherboard fix it? or do I change the card processing?
ps. the system software is version 3.0a

thanks and sorry for my bad english :)

never head this, but i would check your cable seems like it may be causing some issues.

or are you running large files? that it cant handle?

what machine is it attached to?

thanks for the reply!
the machine is a C6500 and the problem occurs even if no printing.
a client is connected to the workstation, when you restart you disciple "disconnected"
I have not tried to change the cable ... could it be?

i would cover you basics, make sure the C6500 is firmware current.

see if there is any firmware's that specifically fix a serial cable issue.

if you think for sure its the fiery, i would run some standard computer test on it. make sure the fiery is working as a computer first

Other option since 3.0a is so new, upgrade the version of comand work station on the box to the latest version, download from fiery site.

ultimately i would pull a fiery (bustled or external) and go from there.

If your client is interested I would get them a newer pro80. There out there, all over the place.
newer more stable.

i think memory or Power Supply Unit of the RIP

The 1-1B4MFG patch might help, but it is sufficiently vague in description: "The Fiery service intermittently stops and cannot be restarted."

run the efi diagnostic programs on a disk that came with the rip.

If you can hook up to the KM service site there is a Hardware Diagnostic Disk download there for the IC-303. This is probably not the problem though.

Version 3.0a is good stuff but there are still a large number of patches that as my friend above says will fix this problem. Get on the System Updates software and make sure all the patches are there.

Have you done a "Clear Server" on this box - it wipes out all the current jobs and history, one of them may be corrupt.

Might be worth a fresh software install too if none of this works.

thanks a lot guys!
I'll try the patch and the diagnostic disc...
and hopefully good!
I let you know!
