I've noticed the new C284/e FW has many files, not like the C280 etc that just has the one .TAR file.My question is what files exactly do I need to move or extract to the root directory of my USB flash drive? The manual isn't clear on this!?Many thanks.

You need to copy all the files from directory A5C10Y0-*-*-*-* to the root of USB drive.

Nope, open folder A5C10Y0-F000-GD1-A9(00) then copy everything from there to the USB drive (many files and folders).

OK thanks, so more like this!? there is also a folder within that folder called "cw" is this the old card work folder" do i need to move those contents to the root directory of the USB too????

I thought the older models were much easier to understand.

Exactly like that,

youre making it too complicated.

simply drag all of those files and folders (theres several and several like the above screenshot) onto the Root..the root is the main space of the flash drive the very beginning folder the root folder hehehehe pun intended ;)

More like that, yes. Just extract all the files and folders in the root directory of your usb stick. Just be sure that your stick is 2 Gb or less; I tried with a 4 Gb Verbatim and the memory was not recognized.

LE: we posted both in the same time :)

Also, make sure to format the drive to get rid of any preinstalled software (i.e., U3 software) that can cause issues--fat32 is the preference, I believe.

It is not auto-rebooting; you have to manually switch off and on.
