Does anyone know why when we get a 1610 jam code (Tray 5 of PFU), the whole body shuts down. If the paper's not coming out of the tray I don't see why the machine can't finish the prints that are already in the main body.

Any light that could be shed on this would be greatly appreciated

That's how all the KMs work.
It's to protect the machine, according to KM. Haven't really had anyone tell me exactly why, more like "It is how it is".

It's to protect the machine

That's what I tell my customers. I did read that some HP printers/MFP's can clear out some paper near the exit before stopping for the jam.

The only real downside I can think of to stopping the whole machine for a jam in a tray, is that customers ring up saying it's jamming everywhere.
