I have a Bizhub C352 machine. When I print to the copier the quality print is perfect. When I scan from the top feed or flat bed scanner the copies come out with a faded area near the top of each page. See attached pic's. Please help if you can. Thank you, Creigh Hill

This will likely come off sounding dumb but have you tried to clean the optics or white plate?

Regards!

Is it a particularly dirty environment? Perhaps the lens or CCD face are dirty? Just don't touch any painted screws. The focus adjustments are nearly impossible to replicate in the field. =^..^=

I'm skeptical that this is truly only happening from the glass. Have you gone into service mode and printed off gradation pages for each IU? Does the defect also appear when you are scanning to email/smb?

Ok.... do the void areas move when you enlarge or reduce? That should tell ya a lot!

Good catch, 907. The cyan image is developed just fine. This problem could easily be caused by a dirty laser slit glass, or a bad black IU. =^..^=

Which is why I asked if the void areas move (or not) when reducing or enlarging.

When I scan to email with the top feeder or flatbed scan, the copy is clear. No fading lines. Only when I make a copy it has faded lines. Any suggestions?

Please re-read these posts. =^..^=

Print the CMYK gradation patterns. You will almost certainly see the same copy quality defects in the black pattern. Attempt cleaning printhead window. When that fails to do anything, go ahead and buy a new K IU. Cause that's all the problem is.
