I have a km 2050 that prints fine for the first 40 copies or so, then is dark background. if it sets for a short time the next run will be fine for the first 10-20 copies. The more it is ran the sooner it gets dark background. Everything is clean, Corona, cavity, Xfer roller. Drum is 2 months old.
Thanks
Gar

Are you using generic toner or drums? =^..^=

I'm with blackcat ...After market drums will initially (20-30 K)
work but will never last as long as OEM.

Do you have burnt toner on the fuser?

I suggest that he should try another drum (katun drum if possible) b/cos i do experience such problem.

Would be nice if you could post a scan so we could see the problem. If toner is oem, i would try with another corona and than check transfer roller section.

Had this problem with after market photoconductors. Densi. Not sure why. I ended up buying a OEM drum unit and that fixed the problem. I hate paying the price of OEM. But hate going back to the same machine over and over trying to troubleshoot.

It has OEM toner and OEM drum with about 3K on the drum. I did clean the corona with both Glass cleaner and then Alcohol, dry wipe after. Client is in only once or twice a week during work hours ( home office ). cleaning the corona seemed to help but still returnes after 30-50 copies. I thought about the Fuser settings for heat build-up but they are set lower by 5 from default. They had a DC-3055 before this. No build on the fuser, I have stopped the copier mid-cycle to check. The pattern does remind me of a corona problem, so I will try that next. Seems like once in every 5 years I see this Pattern.
Thank you all for the input.
Gar the Pilot,

Reply to Quiet tech, You may save money up front by using aftermarket products, but it will cost you more in the long run an they usually do not last as long, are not made to the same specifications as OEM and usually cause other parts to wear out sooner. Most techs/senior techs have learned this and try to keep other techs from using these aftermarket products to save them from more frequent service calls, by the way customers do not like more frequent service calls.

it have caused OEM drum . i think ,it have does not discharge the drum surface after first copy.
OEM drums don't same as original drum. You have try sim U100 initial setting "132 or 135" .You set up 155 or more high value.
But i dont recommend this. You must use original unit or KATUN drum.

Now it goes 60-80 copy / prints before going bad. I cleaned the drum shaft and all the connectors that lead from the HV pwb to the corona and Xref rolled. I will will recheck the U100 setting again, next I will have to try the corona or drum.
Thanks Gar
