We believe this to be a lamp problem and I was wondering if someone else had found a replacement lamp for this unit, since through KM you must order the whole optical unit.

No. But I wish things like this were spelled out in release bulletins.

This is a common problem with this POS! Try cleaning the optics and there is a firmware patch for the scanner. If that doesn't fix the problem, the only thing left is to replace entire scanner.
This model can't go away soon enough!

Nop... Biggest problem is that scanner lamp stays on all the time...if it's not in sleep mode...

Make sure too put sleep time mode as low as customer allows...
