Hi Everyone! I just got a new KM c454e Machine and the meter had 196 Prints on it. does this sound right? I would think that a new machine would have zero-ed out counts....

Also, any thoughts about the machine itself? I am going to this one from a c253 machine...

Thanks in advance!

On any of the Lexmark, Samsung, and Sharp machines that I set up, there will be tests and final adjustments made - 196 does not seem out of line to me. If the service contract started at zero count and you're being charged for those 196 prints, I would ask for a credit for those prints; on the other hand, the contract should have shown the starting count was 196.

196 seems like a reasonable amount of setup/test prints for a machine that size, maybe a little more than average but still not red flag.

This..

C454e > C253 You're getting a much better machine IMO.

When I do setups I run at least 50 pages per tray to confirm proper operation. You wouldn't want anything less. =^..^=

Thanks everyone for your input!! :) It was a relief to learn that this was normal. I normally buy used machines and decided to buy a new one this time (to try and last longer!) for the upgrade.
