Message:
Intermittent jamming and folding paper at transfer
section on right side. Jam code is 3001. I went
there and ran 200+ pages and couldn't get it to jam.
Of course 2 days later it is doing it again.
Customer sent me attached pictures

Any help appreciated.
TIA

I've seen this a few times and I can see from your photos what I would say it is. Change the secondary transfer roller as the black sleeve is missing from the right hand side.
Paul.

Without sounding to stupid what is the secondary transfer roller? I know the transfer roller on the side door that easily comes out by lifting 2 levers.

Looked in the parts manual and didn't see a "secondary" transfer roller, unless I missed it.

Thanks again for the help

That's the one with the two levers in the right hand side door, perhaps I've not got the name right.

Nothing wrong with what you called it, it IS the second transfer roller - the one thats in the door. The first transfer rollers are the ones in the transfer belt unit.

A little simpler, flip the paper. I've found that moisture in the paper will cause it to curl when it hits the registration roller, not enter the fuser and fold and jam.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I will try what was suggested.

As for what the trans roller is called. The service & parts manuals call it "transfer roller unit". This is what threw me off.

Its normally called the secondary roller only in the Theory of Operation manuals. :)

I like "2nd Transfer Roller" cause its the second transfer process.

Good stuff. Learn something new everyday. I knew I should've read those "Theory of Operation" manuals

Thanks everyone. Problem solved. Paulrid had it right. The black sleeve was missing from rear side of trans roller. I love when something is that simple. Thanks again
