Hi,
Just picked up c6501. Cleaned it up and works ok except when i run 8 1/2 x 11 face down it will jam with j-3253. If i switch to letter r it will run fine. It stops just before the decurler roller. ps19 and ps62 are working fine. The decurler roller is in good shape and removed and cleaned. Also it will duplex just fine. Just seems it needs a little push from the reverse motor or reverse rollers. The decurler roller also reverses but the paper doesn't make it quite there. Thanks for any help

I would check the rollers in the duplex tray, had the same thing happened to 6500, ends up bing a lose spring. I don't know if it's the same but it will only take a min to check.

good luck

Thanks for the reply. Will give it a try and get back later. Will clean up rollers and also try face down 2 sided (didn't try that one). I ran face up 2 sided and worked fine. I know the lower guide has seen better days and going to order new one.

OK went in and cleaned and checked duplex rollers. Checked springs and plate. When it stops with 8 1/2x11 it is just before the decurler roller. I ran 50 sheets face down of #20 lb letter R and it ran perfect. Then ran 25 sheets 11X17 face down and ran perfect. I then put in some like #67 card stock and that ran fine. Put #24 paper back in and will not run it. Also ran some #20 coated and that would not run face down but would run seup as letter R. Still looking for any hints to resolve this problem.

I have seen the actuator (65AA51311) for PS19 wear down and causes jams like you describe. The end should be rounded but slowly gets shaved by the paper.

Thanks for the tip. Will check it out. I had the whole switch (ps19)out and it looked fine but will checkit again. Ran it over the weekend and tried every paper weight size in 81/2x11 and same problem Put in 81/2x11 cardstock and it will run facedown. Also did output on m32,m33 and m55 in all speed and forward and reverse modes. Recleaned and checked rollers and springs in duplex. Duplex works great. Every paper works but the lighter #20 #24 Paper in the 81/2x11 face down mode. Also going to check if something is wrong with nip at the decurling roller.

oK Back to report on what i found to resolve the face down 81/2x11 problem. I knew i had a fuser problem because i was also getting image problems from fuser belt. Removed fuser and found fuser gear 20t/28t had stripped teeth. Put in new gear and stripped again. Checked fuser belt roller gear and found it to be reversed. Repaired that and replaced other gear again and fuser working perfect. Then thought that was causing the face down problem in decurler. I also replaced ps19 switch and actuator while waiting for decurler roller to come in. Ran machine and it ran a lot better but would still jam at the decurler about every 12 to 20 copies. PUT IN NEW DECURLER ROLLER TODAY AND MACHINE WORKING PERFECT. Thanks again to all that responded to the problem.

Sorry to say the decurler didn't fix the problem of j-3253. Could use any new tips for thios problem. Duplex works perfect and faceup works great. Only problem with 8 1/2 x 11. Letter r runs fine.

Thanks
