Have Biz 223 in shop for other repairs.
When testing machine after major repairs discovered that it displayed paper jam only from tray 1, other trays work fine. I have replaced feed rollers and O/W clutches to no affect. I actually swapped out tray 1 to another machine, with same results.
Paper stops jus 1 inch out of timing roller. Code 30-03. Any ideas?

Thanks. I tried SSD site but didn't find anything about false jams, maybe I just missed it.
It's really puzzling since it all looks so right

Check the photosensor pin below tray, if the pin is broken no send signal to PWB boar and no actuate the clucht. photosensor location in paper path

I cannot find actuator or sensor at paper exit area of feed unit.
I compared feed unit with one from Biz 423 and they are different. 423 feed section has 3 photo interrupters and Biz 223 only has 2. It appears that paper feed from tray 1 is first detected by sensor at timing roller.

So, let me try again. Tray one always says jam with paper fed in and stopping just before transfer rollers (code 30-03 11). Tray 2 and bypass work fine. new rollers and o/w clutches.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried a trouble reset? I know it sounds unrelated but we had a +452 in last week and after we stripped and cleaned it. We had this exact problem all trays/functions working apart from tray1. Trouble reset fixed our issue.

Thanks for the suggestion. Tried it, got 1 sheet through, jams again.

Please check the three Little gears of the paper feed unit, had broken ones a month ago.
Also check if you have built it to together correctly.

Maybe you can see the paper feed unit working by putting a flashlight into the paper Cassette.

Good Luck

Thanks for all the help. Turns out the bushings on the timing rollers were bad.
Go figure

Hi is that some kind of Friday joke? :) bushing going wrong? Has it done 2 milion or split in half or it got seized up from toner and dust?

Don't want to sound pricky wasn't it just a clutch out of the home position pin?
