Bizhub c552/c452

We bought a bizhub c554 and two c452s. They all came in without the color option and you could only copy in b/w. On the C552 I updated the firmware and the option to copy in color came back. i then tried updating the firmware on the first c452 and now have a code c-c180. It looks like it most likely had an optional card reader previously but that did not come with it. I am holding off on updating the firmware on the second so I do not end up with the same code. Any help would be appreciated.

This code indicates the wrong firmware installed...ie C552 on a C452. Double check your firmware for the machine type you are loading. Emujo

Yes, C452, C552, and C652, and the DS models all have different firmware. I suspect you may have had a special firmware to lockout color, but I have never seen it. if you can post the firmware level on the MFP that currently is locked out, I would appreciate it. Emujo

C452/C552/C652 have the same fw, I would check if the card reader is still activated in service mode.

Sorry went fro memory instead of actually looking it up. Firmware is different between DS and non DS models, but I stand corrected, C652-C452 use the same firmware, and the C-c180 is a code that deals with the loadable device firmware not being installed when a management device is turned on in service mode. Good catch for the previous poster, sorry I took you down the wrong path. Emujo
