[Misc] bizhub C450 Boots to Endless Hour Glass

We have a Konica Minolta bizhub C450 that when turning it on will boot up the the spinning hour glass and then just sits there displaying the hour glass forever.

However if we turn off the main switch, open the door on the right side of the print engine and then turn it on; it boots up asking for the door to be shut and upon being shut everything is fine.

Help!

1) I want to understand what is the timing of all of this that an open door would allow it to fully boot here? (doesn't make sense why any open door allows it to boot)

2) What is the suggested method of repair? NVRAM or something else?

Firmware in those machines were prone to failure and requried to be reupdated using a CF card '-.-

Had to image the firmware on the CF card which made it even more painful.

Twice I have seen a similar issue on a BH C350. One was fixed by firmware and sadly the other was a new board. Due to the age of the machine, the flows on the boards break down and cause poor connections and in this case, a refusal to get past the hourglass.
