Is it possible to swap boards from one machine to another? Not sure if serial number information is stored and on what board.

depending on the board and the model of the other machine they can be swapped.
The C353 uses a different MFP Board compared to the C203 and C253.
As long as you also swap over the NV-Ram you should be ok with it.
Just make sure that you also bring the firmware up to date as well so that all the boards and peripherals are running the same version.

Thanks Shadow. I'm a fan of firmware, but will it operate if the firmware is not updated? A friend of mine has 2 of these machines. They moved them and damaged them. I want to at least make one out of the two if I can. I'm not a Konica-Minolta tech, so I do not have docs or firmware. Not sure what board they are talking about just yet. I just want to make sure that any stored serial number is the serial number that the board is in. And of course make copies.

it will operate, but it is highly suggested to do the firmware so that every thing is on the same level.
