Fuser runs until sleep mode. Have some with small idler gear wearing . Can't find gear. Helps to put to 10 minute sleep mode. Then shuts down and quiet. OR Is it needed to rotate and no dip sw to turn it off? 26T slanted gear.

The C452 uses an inductive heating system. The fuser has to rotate the fuser belt next to the inductive heat coil to keep the belt heated.
If the belt stops rotating there is no heat supplied to the belt section that isn't near the coil.

The belt has to rotate to stay heated.

2 machines with 214k & 219k have worn out idler gears, cleaning roller has scratched teflon roller. We can get roller recoated and clean/oil cleaning roller. But no luck finding 26T slanted gear. It's part of gear train on rear of fuser to drive cleaning roller. Makes noise at idle. Guess I could remove and let teflon roller drive it. any bulletins or part #s on gear? What is fuser life? are we getting old fusers in these low 200k machines? TIA

dont set sleep to 10 minutes, set low power to 10 minutes and the fuser stops rotating in low power mode too.

sleep mode takes a lot longer to wake from than low power mode you can set it to anything you like or disable it completely.

if the machine is in low power mode and set to "enter power save mode" instantly, the machine will have started printing the customers document by the time they walk to it and go back to low power mode as soon as its ejected. (unless the scanner / copier is used then the 10 minute count down starts again)

(there are some crusty old ultra early C451 series machines with first version printer boards that rotate the fusing motor regardless of low power mode and will only stop in sleep mode or if a door is open - it will even run during a fw update even with no fusing heat applied)
