hello

I have a problem with my CF5001. When I plug in network cable into the fiery's RJ45, the "controller" icon from the screen disappear and the printer mode (fiery) is disable.

After this plugin I can use my CF5001 only in copy-mode. I must turn off the copier to enable the printer mode (fiery).

I changed my network switch, I used a crossover cable direct from my computer but without changes.

In this moment I print only with the parallel port.

Do you know this problem? any solutions?

Thank you!

I'd start with firmware c500 and software fiery update.

Have you tried Cat5e cable with only 4 pins live (1,2,3 and 6) and simplex only?

what do you use for your network ? (CAT5 or CAt6). please check the network speed when everything is OK and set the fiery speed setting. (100 or 1000 Mgb/s).

if it is OK . come back to firmware offer

@ habik (http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/members/habik.html)

I don't have a firmware for C500 or a fiery's software.
I will try to use a Cat5e cable with only 4 wires tomorrow.

thank you

@ iust

For my network I use CAT5 and the fiery speed is set to 100Mb/s.

thank you

Try a different cable, are you using the internal or external Fiery?

I try with three or four cables and two network switches - same rezults.

I use a internal Fiery.

I solve this problem changing the fiery. I buy a external fiery and now I can use the network port.

Thanks all!
