It might be the laser unit, we had a similar problem on a C451 recently.

Hello

I have had this on a c451 and it turned out to be the laser unit, covered it yellow on the entire page.

Is it possible to interchange the IU from C451 to C452?

I would go for the laser. I have had the same problem but with cyan background! Place a bit of paper over a part of the yellow laser window. If a white stripe shows on copies/prints then that confirms it as the laser.

I am looking at buy a C452 which has a yellow background printing problem. The machine has only 56k copies on it. The owner demanding $600 for it. Is it worth buying that machine if 1) the laser unit is not working or the IU needs replacement. thanks
