Dear All, Does any one know any alternative solution to reset the SC544. Normally it uses special connector that comes with new Sleeve unit which we do not have right now
Please advice

SC544: Fusing central thermopile high temperature detection

Check the triac on AC power supply board

Dear lasting
Thanks for the reply
The problem is rectified but the SC code con't reset until connect the special connector that comes with new slveer unit to the Fusing unit which we do not have with us
Hoped you will understand

I think you need to know the information (volt, mA) of the fuse. Sorry i dont know them. If you know, you can use an equivalent fuse.

Just try it with the lowest amp fuse you have, I don't think you can hurt anything if it's not the correct one. Give it a try, and let us know.

You might try removing the connector coupler that it plugs into and using a Pico fuse, probably less than 1 amp. Size shown is enlarged.

Please let me know, if you found any other reset method using SP mode other than this method

All you need is a two pin connector with fairly long wires (I use an old harness from a finisher) then plug into the connecter for the new unit detection fuse. Re insert the fuser and close the door wilst keeping the wires outside the machine. Enter SP mode connect the two wires together and run SP 5810-002.

Once you've pressed execute give it a second and then pull wires apart. Machine will display " Completed " job done !!

A 1.25 amp fuse and 5 minutes with a soldering iron is a lot easier.
Replacing the fuse on a used fuser is known as a "Madonna job" around here.............It's like a virgin............:p

... .... Yeah to quote the term it's a true oxymoron .... A claytons virgin: the virgin you have when your not having a virgin.

Not really because I can use mine as many times as I want.

So what happens when you get an SC 544 but the fuser is fine ? just because Ricoh says you have to replace it doesn't mean it actually needs one.

Dear All,
I did it successfully
I used 0.1 ohms fusible resistor
I checked the current with M.meter and observed that it pumps more than 1A current at certain time

I do the same, using an old thermistor lead from AF8000 type. You're right, faster and easier than fuses! I also leave the top fuser cover off for speed.
We used to do similar on old Brother fax machines back In the day.
