Hi,

I have a C754e that's done 300k. C2257 error causing machine down. I visited yesterday and fully vacuumed out the waste toner from the cleaning section of the transfer belt as well as the nozzle out to the waste toner container. The machine reset and worked for the rest of the day. This morning, it has come back in for the same error.

Any ideas?

The transfer belt life on this model is 1.2million, so I don't really want to have to change it....unless there is no other option !

Go in to test output mode and test the M38 motor. See if you can turn the cleaning station of the belt by hand, check gears. Possibly faulty M38 motor if the cleaning station is ok.

Have spoken to Konica Tech Support and they have had some issues with M38 motor, so I will order one for now. I will go and check the machine now and update.

It might be informative to know if the transfer cleaning unit is clogged up again. =^..^=

I returned and stripped down and vacuumed the transfer unit more thoroughly. The M38 motor was sent to the customers in anticipation of another failure. As yet, a few weeks later, it is still ok.
So for now, the motor hasn't been fitted.....

Guy did this problem go away?
I ask because we are having a run on c2257 codes on the older c452 models. TBU cleaning unit is solid.

Have seen this a few times, the cause was non-OEM toner.

Hola Colega, me sucedió lo mismo en una Bizhub C654 el módulo que limpia a la Faja de Transferencia estaba satura de Toner residual y x eso arroja ese código, revisé los Motores y todo estaba correcto, debes desmontar todo ese módulo y limpiar internamente hay unos rodajes que con el mismo trabajo se ponen duros y haces que los piñones no giren normalmente y ahí se esfuerza y sale código. Bueno a mi Paso y se solucionó limpiando ese módulo. Espero te sirva mi Dato. Saludos.34023

yes we use non OEM toner, have for 5 years on these machines, it has only just started.
