konica 7222 finisher firmware issue

have a konica 7222 that the sorter was replaced with a used one. it says stapler moving and wont work. read that its a firmware issue between the copier and the sorter. is it possible to update sorter firmware with a laptop. if so i have never done it before and need some advice from one of you smart techs out there. if there is another solution that would be great to. customer is cheap and doesnt want to replace outdated copier

These are eeproms on the board.
Swap them out from the bad one.
