Hi,

Just wanted to get some general ideas on what people are doing to save money for their service department?

You want dealer trix? Reset stuff and use 3de party consumables or recan toner that is the same but twise the price. Cant let info get to OEM you loose the advantage. as a dealer you have to compete with the OEM's. if you dont use trix you cant compete!

Do the job the right way the first time. That way you won't have to redo and lose money in the long run.

Your highest cost is labor so first call effectiveness is you best way to save money. Fix it right the first time, have proper carstock to reduce return visits, do a total call and thoroughly test the machines, always talk to end-users before and after your call, phone fix whenever possible.

Good awnser. If you do that anyway you dont think about it. Hit and run techs cost alot of money. I calculated that a half-assed tech would cost the company as mutch as R800.00 a call not counting spares at arange of a 100km. that would be like $95.00. Boot stock can save the most money.
