[Misc] 224e adf incorrect paper size

I have a 224e that wont consistently recognize letter paper in the doc feed. sometimes it says 8.5x5.5 and sometimes it says a4 or b5 paper. I tried adjusting the original tray width but that didnt help. Update FW and that was a no go as well. Anyone seen this? im thinkig the resistor is bad because if i just bare touch the side guides on the DF it will change sizes on me again.

Check it could be the length sensor. Table in service mode and do the sensor check. Could be a bad potentiometer, strip and reassemble.
