tic tac sound in up right door cover in ineo+224e

hi all
i went today to check an ineo+ 224e , and i noticed a weird sound ticking in up right door cover ,
have anybody ever faced this problem or have an idea about it !

i had the same on a B654, the machine was to busy to try and trouble shoot it worried me a bit it was coming from the right side door. The machine was running ok so i left it like that. On the next visit the sound was gone.

Hope you find it, maybe someone else knows where its coming from.

I'll agree with wseyller. It's usually the fuser and usually it has no detrimental effect other than the ticky ticky noise.

If the fuser is in good shape, you can take the time to use a good quality high temp grease to lubricate the various mechanical parts, specifically the heat roller and pressure roller bearings where they contact the rollers. If the fuser is trashed ... just order the new fuser. =^..^=

I had a C454 (non E series) doing this exact same thing today. Replacing the fuser made it go away.

The fuser for these was modified to correct the issue in the future. The E series I believe use the same fuser but I would think they would have the newer fuser. But maybe this cause is related, maybe not.

CAUSE: The heat roller may become angled due to the position of the mounting plate. This position may place excessive pressure to one side causing the rear fuser bearing to fail.

SOLUTION: Please follow the adjustment procedure below to fix the mounting plate in the correct position.
CAUTION: Make sure to perform the following procedures after waiting for the temperature of the fusing unit to be cool enough to touch.
Be careful not to damage the harness or have it routed incorrectly.
1. Remove the fusing unit.
2. Remove two screws from each cover then remove the Left and Right covers.
3. Remove two shoulder screws and one screw from the Front cover then remove the cover.

4. Loosen two screws on the left side as seen in the following illustration, locate the positioning plate in the center of the square hole and secure it with the screws.
5. Loosen the right side screw, locate the positioning plate in the center of the square hole and secure it with the screw.

To reinstall the covers, reverse order of removal. Please follow all the precautions described below.

I have also found that the bushings on the exit unit that sits above the fuser on the side door get worn and cause ticking and squeeking I have a spare I rebuild now and swap in when needed
