    c650 with Fiery SMB scanning with two cat5 cable network method

    So I have two of these c650s and set them up identical to each other and could never figure out why SMB scans wouldn't work on the elloquently named "leftbox" but would on the "rightbox." Then an 8 port unmanaged switch took a dump in my cereal.

    I have the place hobbling along with an 8 port router that has been in use for about 6 years and now the SMB scans work on both machines.

    The only thing that is different is that the MFP was connected to the switch and the Fiery was connected to the Router (now they are both on the router).

    Can someone explain this? Just curious...

      what error do you get? login error, connection to server error?

          Sorry for the late response, with smb scans if I remember correctly it just says something like "job failed"...
