    DCP-8050DN toner won't reset

I replaced the toner (TN-620) in this Brother printer, but, it's still saying Toner Low Prepare New Toner Cartridge. I followed the instructions and some troubleshooting I found on Brother's website. It still won't recognize the toner was replaced.

Here's what I did (following the instructions):
Remove old toner cartridge from drum unit
Remove new toner cartridge from box
    Shake toner back and forth
Remove yellow plastic covering the dev roller
Install new toner into drum unit
    Clean the corona wire
    Reinstall into the printer

The printer spins up, warms the fuser and then goes back to Toner Low. Am I missing something?

Brand new genuine Brother TN-620 purchased from Office Depot.

Every Brother I know has toner reset sequence of buttons etc. I don't know for this toner as it's not available here, but try this:
    TN-620 & TN-650 Toner Reset Instruction | 123ink.ca blog
Or just watch some You tube videos how to put reset gears in position for the toner cartridge to be recognized as new.
    Good luck

    Re: DCP-8050DN toner won't reset

Those instructions aren't for the DCP series. When I was looking at the cartridge, I was thinking more along the lines of a reset gear/mechanism. Looks like I was thinking right. Will have to look at it tomorrow. Thank you for your response.

I dunno. I'm confused. I reset the gear. Still says Toner Low. Found how to access Maintenance Mode and tested the Toner New (TN) sensor and it's working. I tried resetting the original toner cartridge gear and still get Toner Low. Still prints, just keeps saying Toner Low.

    Re: DCP-8050DN toner won't reset

In case anything is working for new toner to be recognized, I will print settings list and do memory clear from Maintenance mode. Never ever had main PCB going wacky to not recognize new toners at all.

    Phil.....

Using your method and selecting the [*], [0], [0] option worked! Thank You!

It doesn't look like Brother chips supplies/parts. I noticed to clear pretty much anything requires the use of the Maintenance Mode.
