    J4420 no paper Feed

I got this little fucker for swapping the absorber, so far so good.

Unfortunetely the printer won't feed from paper tray because there is almost no drive on the rollers. That funny gear construction is OK. The service manual doesn't explain the theory of operation so I investigated on my own and found out that the drive for the pick up rollers comes from the right side of the printer, kind of where the maintanance station sits. It also seems so be connected with the duplex drive.

Ans chance to revive it with less effort? I know I saw this in the past but told the customer it's a write off. Now I'm mad that I did accept this "absorber" repair request at all.
