Brother HL-L2340DW Paper Sizes

I have owned this machine for some time now and have always used it for printing A4 sheets. Recently I had a job to print A5 but its not working!

The printer had the capability I believe as there are setting "fences" inside the paper tray outlining where you place the paper (A4, A5, A6...) and they are easy to set. On the Print dialog on the computer I have set double sided A5; and I have genuine A5 paper of the right weight to feed it. When I hit the button it will print the first side only and then stops with a message on the printer status window to the effect that the sheet size is not set correctly. Has anyone else had this issue?

The help/support on the Brother web site only has FAQ's none of which are remotely helpful and the set up manual is very basic.

I am using this machine with an iMac, iPad and/or MacBook Pro. Same result on all of them.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the duplex only supports A4 size.

what are the paper settings on the copier itself?

Duplex only works with A4 on this model.
Did you set A5 on the printer itself aswell?

Sorry, as others have said only A4 for automatic duplexing. You may do A5 double sided only manually and one by one.
