    MFC-L6900dw line when using ADF

No, it is not the slit glass! Yes the firmware is up to date. It only has a line when using the ADF and does not do it when placed on the glass. On the attachment, I messed up and put it in backwards so the "L" is trail and "T" is lead edge. If you notice the image is reduced in length but not width so I'm thinking a ADF speed adjustment. But wait, there's NO adjustment in the manual for the ADF period. Sooooo? Any idea's would be greatly appreciated!

I would clean rollers and as strange as it sounds try Factory default reset(seems to cure some odd problems from time to time).

I spoke with Brother and the only fix is to replace the ADF. Fortunately, it only costs $81 bucks. When I receive the ADF and install it, I will let you know if it resolves the issue. It's a shame they don't have adjustments for the ADF. Would have been a simple fix with a timing adjustment!

Re: MFC-L6900dw line when using ADF

From the scanned document it looks like it is being reduced down the length only and the line is caused by the end of the paper.
I would check the paper size settings as this can happen when A4 and Letter are cross matched in original and copy size.

Also check that 93 % reduction is not selected as default when using the ADF

Did you try the full reset as suggested earlier as this would reset any parameters that may have been changed by design or accident

01 is a full reset or try 91 first as this keeps customer information they may have set up but will clear any changes to the settings

    Good luck

You are correct Dickie about the edge of the paper showing the line. The image is reduced from lead to trail and not front to rear. Only when using ADF, not printing or laying original on glass. Everything you suggested I have done and also went over with tech support.
    Thanks again!

Just wanted to let everyone know that a whole new doc feeder fixed the issue. Not to bad price wise .... i believe it was around $85.

Yeah brother parts prices are (usually) pretty fair and affordable.

Edit: Is there no setting for DF adjustment in service mode?
