Good luck in your new job. You will miss copiers, maybe not right away, but, you will! God Bless and happy tomorrows!
    Thanks!

I'm not sure I'll miss them after this many years and basically just getting completely burned out on them for the last several years.

Thanks, guys! Really excited about the opportunity!
What does no shift work mean? and Do you mean Monday-Thurs?

    It means one week that I was working 6 a.m. - 3 p.m.

    The next I was working 3-11 p.m.

    And the following week I was working graveyard shift - 11 p.m. - 7 a.m.

Exactly what I won't have to deal with and I would never take a job that requires shift changes like that.

I was in school at the time taking Industrial Electronics and part of the class was learning to program and set up a PLC panel. I was about 6-months away from graduating and a guy from the company came to the school and recruited me. Starting pay was 45k per year and that was a lot of money in 1987.

I figured that I would get used to the shift work but I am a morning person and was never able to adjust my sleep. I learned my lesson...the hard way.

Going to be starting the new job on May 9th and I'm excited about the possibilities of it. I'll be building large control panels used to control material handling equipment such as baggage handling systems, grain at elevators, and the assembly lines used in automotive manufacturing. And then possibly running a laser cutting machine which the company is installing in the next couple months.

I'll pop in here once in a while but I'll be a bit too busy most of the time.
Best of luck to you in your future endeavors.

I'm happy for you, I work for a sole proprietorship (not very attentive to the sector and alas not innovative) a little tired of spinning like a top in Rome, in traffic, parking almost impossible to find, I'm considering setting up on my own, exploiting my skills for myself and not for others at this price.
