    Wrong forum spammer!
A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.

I don't reply to private messages from end users.

    Microsoft Translator.

Copiers OEMs such as Xerox, Lexmark and Toshiba offer cloud based apps embedded into their LCD panels that can scan paper documents and translate them into a language of your choice.

There is a very small fee per translation.

Their seems to be some iniative in California Schools that is driving this.

In my province, Nova Scotia, Canada I have a friend who is an elementary school teacher. In his class of 30 students, 21 are described as English not being their primary language. The teacher often has to send work home and being able to automatically translate a printed document into a language both the parent and student can understand is considered a great help.

Homogenous classes in public schools where all students are of roughly the same racial background and speak English at the same level are considered very rare now.

The new copier Tramslate apps do not recognize handwriting. You can scan in a printed language from like Chinese Traditional and print it out in English and vice versa. Pretty impressive. The copier is not doing the work, it is just a conduit to a cloud translator which uses AI to help improve the translation.

Also a lot of workplaces have migrant workers or fresh immigrants who's language skills are not great. The same goes for Healhcare when a patient home care document has to be sent home in a language the homecare giver can clearly understand.

The term we use is ESL, English as a Second Language. There are communities in California where they won't even considered hiring a K-6 teacher that is not fluent in both English and Spanish. Very often classes can be 40% to 60% Hispanic. Not quite that much here in Bakersfield as most Hispanic families are third generation or more U.S. citizens and are bilingual. The outlying farming communities do have a large Hispanic population.
