[Misc] IRadv6055 - DADF Limited Functions

hi,

I have a iradv6055 with colour image reader C1/DADF duplex scanner. It has come up with DADF Limited function mode, no error code and as far as we know, the customer said it just happened, no jam etc.

I have so far checked all the cables from reader to dadf, cleared the R Con and DC Con , upgraded firmware and still has limited functions, I cant find anywhere to take the DADF off limited functions.

I have seen a previous post back in 2013 that the DADF Driver pcb and DADF document input tray cable was replaced and said it was the soloution. Has anyone else seen this issue? Is the Driver pcb in the DADF or is in the image reader?

any help would be appreciated.

When the machine goes into limited functions mode, the issue with the feeder needs to be resolved to clear the message that is being displayed.

Note:
Check Servive Mode>Display> Error for a clue to what may be wrong with the feeder.

The Limited Functions Mode for the imageRUNNER Advance Series is found in a special location as opposed to all other imageRUNNER Models.

Please execute the following keystrokes to find Limited Functions Mode.

Settings / Registration > Management Settings > Device Management > Limited Functions Mode

hi,

checked the error history but no recent errors, but found a couple of E400s from a good while back, ive just replaced the DADF driver pcb and reader controller pcb, still says limited functions for DADF. The DADF is not in the service mode and looking under ACC-STS, DADF is set to 0. I have also swapped the 2 leads from the image reader incase there was a crushed wire or something. still the same result, DADF is on limited functions.

If i swap the whole image reader/dadf with another machine the fault goes with it, so maybe a motor or sensor gone?

Check in service mode all adf motors,solenoids and sensors.

My experience is the E302 code makes the DADF go into limited function mode. Sometimes it just says check feeder on screen (don't remember exact wording). I had one two days ago that had a torn corner of paper wedged in scanner second side glass and another part. I had to go to limited functions, turn on and then turn off to clear it. I saw the piece of paper after taking out second side scanner. That E302 can also be thrown by dirty optics in the second side scanner another tech showed me how to take out and clean the glass inside (filthy plant that coats things from welding). There is also a tech pub for a new spring on back side of mechanism for moving second side glass under second side scanner, that fixed two of my 6255 intermittent E302-0101. When DADF is in limited function mode you have to go to the error mode and see what error it logged. I just read a tech pub that said the scanner glass could get dirty and cause that code, best to clean both. Same type DADF on a lot of big machines, color and black and white.

E400 is a different code than I am used to. I posted about another code (E302). Try turning the limited function on (it was off), turn off machine, turn limited function off, turn off machine then turn on again. I had to do this to find out that a piece of paper was binding the glass under the second side scanner (far front corner). It said feeder was in limited function mode but the limited function was off when I got there. It would not register the code in error section again until I did that.

Check / Replace > Internal Scanner unit of DADF/READER A1/C1 if u have this model
