    imageRUNNER ADVANCE 8285 / 8295 / 8205
    Pro Booklet Finisher - Q1

A message of 'The alignment function of the finisher needs to be checked. Contact your service representative.

Printing is still possible' is displayed on the control panel. The Finisher controller was replaced, but the message was still displayed.

Replacing the Neat Driver pcbresolved the message. The part number for the Neat driver PCB is FM0-3019-000.

A message of, "The alignment function of the finisher needs to be checked. Contact your service representative.

Printing is still possible.", was shown on the control panel display during initialization. No error codes displayed for the finisher.

    Problem :

A report that one of the Neat Stack paddle arms was sluggish and sometimes would not move. The report was said to have been for the front Neat Stack paddle arm and that sometimes it would not move This would affect stacking and would be seen with poorly stacked sets either with or without stapling. This was noticed with the lower tray. This message can also occur if the upper tray's Neat Stack assembly has the same issue. The message below would normally appear after the machine booted up and the finisher would initialize.

    Solution :

Although no error code was displayed, the issue was resolved after the belt drive tension for the front arm was adjusted. The belt was a little loose, but loose enough to cause drive issue. The tensioner was loosened and then adjusted in order to add more tension on the belt drive. Once the tension was adjusted the issue was resolved. This can also happen if the belt is thrown for either the front or rear arms. Check the images below for reference.

This is a snapshot of the lower tray's Neat Stack assembly with the cover removed. Check the belt drive near the motors to see if the belts are in place or too loose.

The lower tray's Neat Stack assembly outside of the machine.

Reverse side to the same assembly. There are additional belts here that can be checked.

Close up of the belt tensioner.

The upper tray also has a Neat Stack assembly that can also create this issue. The assembly has a similar drive system, just orientated differently.

Opposite side of the upper tray's Neat Stack belt drive. Check for loose or thrown belts. It also has tensioners that can also be adjusted.

    Thank you.
    There's no error.
    I got your meaning.
    I'll take action.
The current state is the same for both units.
