    E020-0190 AdvC2030

Customer has Adv C2030, had pink background on color copies, they bought a Magenta drum unit off Amazon and installed it. Still getting full pink copies now also has E020-0190. They are pretty far outside our service area but are begging for help so want to make sure we have everything we need before driving out there. Any experience with this?

I had the same code a while back and had to replace black and magenta drum. Check drum life in service mode

E020 0190 05 Title ATR Sensor (M) error or toner supply error
Detection The average value of detected inductance sampling value
is equal to or lower than the specified value (0x0F)
Remedy 1. Check if the Drum Unit (M) is installed.
    2. Check the Drum Unit Relay PCB (M) (UN27).
    3. Check the Drum Unit Memory PCB (M) (UN31).
    4. Check the harness/connector between the DC Controller
PCB (UN09/ J25) and the Drum Unit Relay PCB (M) (UN27).
    5. Replace the Drum Unit (M).
    6. Replace the DC Controller PCB (UN09)

was the new drum installed cold ?

take the m drum out, close front door, let the machine determine the drum is not there. install new drum unit.I do this procedure to replace every drum on this model. if this does not work try swapping out the drum chip from the old drum to the new drum.

Did you clean the laser glass (tool inside the front door) or you can remove the unit & clean it properly inside & out.

Also make sure the firmware is on latest common issue.

As a test you can swap the old chip to the new drum.

I always thought it was MUCH easier to remove the laser unit from the left side of the machine to clean it. I never liked the "service mode /open laser" shutter process.

Once you’ve taken that ribbon cable ofF a few dozen times the contacts become worn & then you’re in trouble big job to replace that.

I start by using the tool of this does the job I dont risk taking the laser out

So our tech went to check this out, they said they ordered a Magenta drum and installed it, but they actually bought a toner, not a drum! New drum has fixed the issue.

    Re: E020-0190 AdvC2030

I'm having a similar problem on this model. The code is E-00020-01b0. It still points to the magenta color.
The first time I replaced the drums for this issue I used the old chips to make the E0020 code go away. I did not pull the laser
unit as advised. Had to go back and re install the new chips and pulled the laser unit and cleaned the poly mirror and the others.
Cleaned the patch sensors under the transfer belt too. I did all of these items today also.
I also wiped the lens off. Cleaned the laser dust proof glasses on both sides. The problem went away till now. I'm going to replace
the magenta drum unit tomorrow. The numbers in the counters don't match up. The LF reads 178% on the magenta but the PT MDRUM sez 42k.
Glad I read this post to remind me to close the door without the drum in till the machine sees it is missing.

Measure to Prevent an E020-1x60 Immediately After Replacing the Drum Unit.pdf

Here is the pdf that explains how to clean the laser poly mirror.
