Double Image in Copies

As been said i see no ghosting but a color registration issue. Have you cleaned/checked the patch sensor windows?

Hello,
I have been working on a Canon IR C5235i. Copies appear with ghost images. After all efforts and changing developers ITB, drums and toners, I still have the same result of ghost behind the image. Could someone suggest what more I should try? Thanks I'm advance.

It wasn't a new one but a farely used working one.

This could be the cause.

99% of colour registration issues on Canon are caused by the ITB/Transfer unit.

Remove the belt from the ITB thoroughly clean the rubber drive roller & the inside of the belt, refit & test again.

I'm going to guess that it's happening on copies ONLY, not prints.

When you cleaned the optics, I'm betting that you removed a couple of the mirrors. Copiers use front surface mirrors, that is, the reflecting surface is on the front of the piece of glass, not the back.

Since you're used to looking at mirrors through the glass medium, you probably installed it backwards. Installed this way you get both a reflective image off the glass surface (the blurry image), and a refractive image off the mirrored side.

This can also happen on prints if you make this same mistake on the laser mirrors.

So check the mirrors. The light should shine against the coated side of the mirror, not the clear glass side.

The first thing you would have to do is take tests 6 and 10, send the photos to know if you are registering the color well.
if the low-use transfer unit that you placed from another machine, before making itb adjustments in the service mode, it would be advisable to do an internal maintenance of the transfer unit "Remove the ITB belt, clean thoroughly the rubber drive roller and the inside of the belt, replace it and try again ". as the friend COPIER TECH says.
Do not forget to clean the patch sensor with a cloth and isopropyl alcohol

Actually looks like the Black drum isn't seated properly. Run Auto Gradation full and see if black bar is aligned with colour bars.
