Don't really have jam issues but did you check and make sure the pick up rollrs are snapping back into place? There's a spring that pulls them back to home postion that I've had come off.
Thanks For reply. I know the pick up return spring is in place I have seen these come off before so had checked.😒 I agree with you normally these don’t have major jamming issues. I am beginning to think it could be a drive assembly issue hence the noise. Could be gears ? Hoping somebody may have had similar problems.

Thank you folks for your replies. both with useful information. Will order the new torque limiter as it does sound like that of the hard rubber separation roller binding causing jams . Will also check the lever behind the pick up shaft gear at rear of machine for excess grease. Will keep you posted later this week thanks.
Have seen the gear tips wear, the one that engages when solenoid releases it.

Torque limiter. Changed a few on these...grunts when it feeds
I had this on the optional 2nd paper tray, and replaced all the rollers, torque limiter.Still double clutching and jamming.
It ended up the solenoid pawl needed to be filed down so more of the pawl was holding back the sleeve part. and I used a spring from a hplj 4250 solenoid spring.
