oce plotwave 300 parts won't reseat properly

They did it to me again. Don't have access to manuals, the one I downloaded looked like it was going to wreck my computer if I opened it. Anyway, called out to look at plotter with dark lines running down the print. It looked like a dirty corona, seems easy enough. I found a video how to get it out & in again, great.
Took it out & cleaned it easy enough, but when I got it back together, the top cover wouldn't latch & got error 8528. The video mentions to make sure the plate sits in the groove & tighten the screws.
Well, there must be more to it then that. I had that plate and the corona also in and out, off and on I don't know how many times, and it still doesn't seem to sit right. It stays in the groove the way I think it should, but the upper part of the plate seems to pivot out of position so that the top cover won't latch. When you try to open the cover again, a screw on the plate catches a ledge in the top cover so it's extremely difficult to open it.
I don't have x-ray eyes so I can't tell what is keeping it from going in the correct position. Not to mention I've never seen one of these in my life before.
So if anyone would be willing to divulge any trick to set that back in right, it would be greatly appreciated. Either that, or if you live in northeast Illinois, maybe we can send you there.
    Thanks for your consideration.

Hi. I went back with a second pair of eyes. First we took out the screws that were catching the top cover. They seemed superfluous so I hope that wasn't a bad decision. Then it looked like the top cover was tweaked a little bit so it wasn't engaging the switches and latch correctly. Hope this helps in the future

Nothing like a good "Tweak" to end the week.
