Canon IR 2520 Copier showing Paper jam when powering
Dear Team,
Canon IR 2520 Copier shows Paper jam when powering, it does not come to a ready state.
it is for one of my clients who was trying to do maintenance and ended up spreading toner powder allover the copier, i have opened the copier and did a proper maintenance , but after re-assembling it, it says open right door and clear paper jam,
things done so far;
===========
- inspected fuser/ fixing unit = no jam
- inspected paper tray and tray path = no jam
- re-inspected the laser unit cables = they are connected properly
what could be the problem?
please help

Sounds to me like they got toner in a sensor somewhere. You need to get the jam code from service mode to find out which sensor it is

it does sound like they got toner dust on a sensor. Unfortunately this machine does not show the jam code in service mode it has to be printed, and since its in a jam state I doubt that it will print said jam code list.

Great point. Gonna have to start by cleaning the sensors in the area of the toner spill. Good luck!

You have to make sure the sensors are working properly. Apart from the sensor getting soiled by toner, a sensor flag can get disengaged or its spring can get unwrapped.
You need to check on all the sensors in the paper pathway- starting from the cassette pickup sensor to the delivery sensor. My suspicion is, a spring on one of the sensor flags is disengaged, a flag is being cheated by a foreign object, or a flag is not smoothly moving back to home position after a paper went over it.
Press and release quickly each of:
Pickup Sensor
Paper Sensor
Pre-Registration Sensor
Duplex Feed Sensor if there is one
Manual Feeder Paper Sensor
Fixing outlet sensor and delivery sensor.
Find out if each of them is dangling freely to home position after your press.
Just wishing you get round it Pal!
