I took the finisher out to put the stapler belt back on the front pulley.
In order to remove the top part I had to disconnect some connectors from the board.
That's when I missed connecting M3 to CN4. After straightening the pin in CN49 I still
got that E56f code. I found inside the connector a small piece of plastic about 2mm long.
Look like the end of a flat toothpick. Removed that and the connector seated properly.
The code E56f went away and now I am back to the original code, E531-8002 that the customer
    reported.
After all of this I knock the belt off again. But I found away to put it back on the front without
    pulling the finisher.

So the finisher staples fine in the upper right corner but not the upper left. It does not do the booklet
staple either. When it goes to the back that's when the error code occurs. I can see the stapler actuate
twice before it codes out. I am suspecting the flat cable that ride to the right side of the stapler.

    Any comments?

    Thanks

    DR
I think you are on the right track. Those flat ribbon cables will cause error codes. I found a knowledge base on your code.

I will let you know how it turns out.

    Thanks

    Copier lady,
Thanks again for the tech letter, the flex cable fixed the problem. The stapler itself was also bad as it did not run the motor at all
and the new stapler ran but still gave the code.
The cable was only about 5 bucks.

    Thanks again

You are welcome. Glad you found the solution. Even better when the part is cheap. IRA 4245 with internal finisher
